The area of Occupational Health & Safety is a priority for Grupo Fertiberia. Therefore, it permanently promotes investment, courses, information, training and management aimed at achieving the “Zero Accidents” objective.
These actions, combined with the creation of safety committees at each work centre explain the satisfactory results recorded in recent years, with an accident rate that is much lower than the average for the sector.
The participation of Grupo Fertiberia in the Commitment to Progress “Responsible Care” programme, in collaboration with the FEIQUE (Spanish Chemical Industry Federation) has promoted the prevention of occupational hazards as a priority work and management tool. Its use has contributed towards improving the safety of the equipment, facilities and products, as well as preserving suitable environmental conditions.
The occupational hazard prevention policy promoted by Fertiberia has been endorsed since 2008 with the OHSAS 18001 standard certificate
In 2015, the Spanish Chemical Industry Federation (FEIQUE), in collaboration with the Foro Química y Sociedad Forum, set up the first Corporate Social Responsibility Awards for the chemical sector.
Fertiberia has seen its efforts rewarded in the safety area by being granted the “Training Award” for promoting ongoing training with the aim of providing workers with the possibility to acquire and update knowledge and skills.
